Intelligence Is Knowing When Not to Be Clever
Martin asks: “Do you know who I am?” Franklin could play dumb. He could crack a joke. He could stay silent. Instead he immediately answers: “Martin Madrazo.”
Then he gives exactly the explanation Martin wants to hear. He’s not being cowardly. He’s reading the situation. Franklin recognises something many people never learn: There are moments to prove how smart you are… and moments to prove you know when to keep someone else happy.
Sometimes survival depends less on what you know… and more on understanding the person standing in front of you.
“Wisdom is knowing what to do next; skill is knowing how to do it.”
This scene reinforces something we’ve been noticing throughout Franklin’s journey. Lamar reacts. Michael explodes. Simeon manipulates. Franklin observes.
The first thing Franklin does isn’t reach for a weapon or throw out a clever remark. He studies Martin, understands exactly who he’s dealing with, and says precisely what needs to be said. That’s not luck. That’s emotional intelligence.
It’s also one of the reasons Franklin survives. Throughout GTA V, the people who get themselves into the most trouble are usually the ones who let ego speak before judgment. Franklin’s strength is almost the opposite, he knows when to let someone else feel powerful if it keeps the situation under control.
This is one of the clearest examples yet of Franklin’s defining trait. His superpower isn’t being the toughest guy in the room. It’s being the one who understands the room first.
With Grand Theft Auto VI on the horizon, I thought it was the perfect time to revisit one of the greatest games ever made. GTA V was one of the very first games I created content for, and while I had plenty of enthusiasm back then, I was still learning the art of recording, editing and storytelling. I won’t deny, I still have a long way to go though!
So, over the days leading up to the launch of GTA VI, I’m returning to Los Santos for Grand Theft Auto V – Series 2. Rather than simply re-uploading old footage, I’m creating a brand-new collection of fast-paced shorts that focus on the funniest moments, biggest fails, epic stunts and unforgettable chaos. These clips are shorter, sharper and edited to keep the action flowing from start to finish. Think of it as a celebration of GTA V, a countdown to GTA VI, and a chance to compare where Gramepa started with where the channel is today. The challenge is to get the whole game covered by GTAVI launch.
