Mixed media travels through fifty years of gaming, technology and curiosity.
From vinyl to digital. From Pong to Starfield. From the Sinclair ZX80 to an RTX 4070. From floppy disks to fibre broadband. Buying it, learning it, making it, playing it, teaching it, selling it… and now documenting it.
Welcome to Gramepa.
I started creating gaming content in 2025, but gaming has been part of my life for almost fifty years. Along the way I’ve worked in education, business, retail, technology and media, always gravitating towards anything that involved computers, gadgets, games or figuring out how things work.
This website is simply the latest chapter.
It isn’t just about gaming. It’s about curiosity.
One week I might disappear into a hundred hours of an RPG. The next I’ll be redesigning my website, experimenting with AI, building a streaming studio, creating merchandise, writing a newsletter or learning another piece of software that I probably didn’t need but absolutely wanted to understand.
I enjoy the process every bit as much as the destination.
One thing you’ll quickly notice is that I don’t chase trends. I don’t play games because they’re popular, sponsored or good for the algorithm. I play what genuinely interests me. Sometimes that means hundreds of hours. Sometimes it means one evening before quietly deciding that game and I simply weren’t meant for each other.
You’ll probably learn what I think of a game simply by noticing whether I ever return to it.
When I started this project my aim was simply to create a shed load of content and learn by doing. There was no grand strategy beyond pressing Record and seeing what happened. Since then the channel has steadily evolved into a mixture of long-form gameplay, Shorts, clips, articles, humour, photography, AI-assisted creativity and whatever else catches my attention.
Everything here is part of the same adventure.
One unexpected discovery has been how much I enjoy content creation itself. Editing, storytelling, branding, photography, social media, web design, AI tools and video production have become hobbies alongside gaming rather than merely supporting it. Every new skill unlocks another rabbit hole to disappear down.
Artificial Intelligence has become an invaluable assistant along the way. It hasn’t replaced creativityβit has simply allowed me to spend less time wrestling with repetitive tasks and more time creating and playing! Like every other tool I’ve picked up over the past fifty years, it’s something worth understanding rather than fearing.
You’ll also meet Gramema from time to time. With a background in retail and fashion she’s responsible for making the merchandise look considerably better than anything I would have designed on my own. The wider family occasionally wanders into projects too, and with decent internet finally arriving, collaborative streams are becoming much more realistic.
Don’t expect elite gameplay. There are plenty of creators who are faster, younger and considerably more skilled than me.
Do expect curiosity.
Do expect honesty.
Do expect me to laugh at myself.
And do expect me to disappear down strange technological rabbit holes every now and then.
This isn’t a race to become the biggest gaming channel on the internet. It’s a long-term project built around the hobby that has fascinated me for half a century. If people enjoy coming along for the ride, that’s a wonderful bonus.
Gaming has been my hobby for fifty years.
Content creation is simply the next adventure.
Peaceful unlearning.
