One Last Ride On The Road To GTA VI 📅 116 Days to launch.
This is one of Rockstar’s cleverer conversations because it’s not really about cannabis. It’s about how easily people convince themselves they’re the only ones who see the truth. Almost every character in the scene believes they’re completely rational… while sounding increasingly irrational.
The activist says; “They rigged the vote.” Then; “Democracy only works when it lets intelligent people do what they want.”
It’s a brilliantly contradictory statement. He supports democracy… until democracy produces an outcome he doesn’t like.
Rockstar isn’t mocking politics here. They’re mocking a very human habit. We often believe we’re open-minded… right up until someone disagrees with us. Then suddenly our opinion becomes common sense… and everyone else is an idiot. What are you looking at me like that for?!
“The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald
This scene is not about cannabis or whether it should be legal. That’s the backdrop, not the point. The enduring lesson is about confirmation bias. The activist interprets everything through the lens of his own beliefs, and Michael, despite dismissing him, quickly falls into his own contradiction by accepting the drug anyway.
That’s what makes the writing so sharp. Rockstar isn’t asking, “Who’s right?” They’re asking, “How often do we all believe our own version of reality?”
That’s a timeless human behaviour, and it keeps the discussion focused on psychology rather than politics.
With Grand Theft Auto VI on the horizon, I thought it was the perfect time to revisit one of the greatest games ever made. GTA V was one of the very first games I created content for, and while I had plenty of enthusiasm back then, I was still learning the art of recording, editing and storytelling. I won’t deny, I still have a long way to go though!
So, over the days leading up to the launch of GTA VI, I’m returning to Los Santos for Grand Theft Auto V – Series 2. Rather than simply re-uploading old footage, I’m creating a brand-new collection of fast-paced shorts that focus on the funniest moments, biggest fails, epic stunts and unforgettable chaos. These clips are shorter, sharper and edited to keep the action flowing from start to finish. Think of it as a celebration of GTA V, a countdown to GTA VI, and a chance to compare where Gramepa started with where the channel is today. The challenge is to get the whole game covered by GTAVI launch.
Follow Gramepa for at least one new GTA V short every day (probably two if I’m going to achieve this) as we count down to the biggest gaming launch in years. I hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as I do!
