Back in the early 2000s, WoW was my escape from the daily grind of full-time teaching life. After long days powered entirely by coffee, stress, and photocopier fumes, Azeroth became the place where I could switch my brain off and disappear into adventure for “just one more quest” until suddenly it was 2AM. Now, two decades later, I’m back.
In this series I’m returning to the original World of Warcraft Classic experience with completely fresh eyes — revisiting Stormwind, Elwynn Forest, the old quests, the iconic music, and all the nostalgia that made this game legendary in the first place. From character creation to embarrassing early-game deaths, this is a genuine return to a world that defined an entire era of gaming.
There is honestly no game intro I’ve watched more in my life than the Human opening cinematic and narration. Even after fifty years of gaming, hearing those words again still hits exactly the same. The atmosphere, the music, the feeling of stepping into Stormwind for the first time… it’s pure gaming history.
