When Emotion Beats Logic _ GTA Beyond The Mission

One Last Ride On The Road To GTA VI đź“… 119 Days to launch

The joke isn’t that Lamar is crazy. The joke is that Lamar always lets emotion outrun the plan.

Franklin is thinking about the job. Lamar is thinking about revenge… and keeping the bike. Within seconds, Lamar has abandoned the entire mission. That’s Lamar throughout GTA V. He acts first and justifies it later.

Rockstar contrasts him perfectly with Franklin, who is always trying to think one step ahead.

It’s a reminder that emotion can make us feel powerful, while quietly sabotaging our goals.

“Don’t let your emotions override your intelligence.” — Common modern saying

I don’t think Rockstar is mocking Lamar here. They’re showing why Franklin eventually outgrows him.

In earlier clips, I talked about Franklin’s central struggle being agency—learning to take control of his own life. Lamar represents the path Franklin is trying to leave behind: impulsive decisions, short-term thinking and letting pride dictate your choices.

That doesn’t make Lamar a bad character. In fact, it’s what makes him such a memorable one. He’s funny because he says what everyone else is thinking, but he’s also a cautionary tale because he rarely pauses to think about the consequences. I can draw a lot of comparisons with myself. It’s only when I write things down that I stop and think about what I’m saying!

The laughs come from Lamar’s wild ideas, but the lesson comes from watching Franklin slowly realise that if he wants a different future, he can’t keep making the same decisions as his oldest friend.

With Grand Theft Auto VI on the horizon, I thought it was the perfect time to revisit one of the greatest games ever made. GTA V was one of the very first games I created content for, and while I had plenty of enthusiasm back then, I was still learning the art of recording, editing and storytelling. Looking back at those early videos reminds me just how much I’ve grown as a creator. I won’t deny I still have a long way to go though!

So, over the days leading up to the launch of GTA VI, I’m returning to Los Santos for Grand Theft Auto V – Series 2. Rather than simply re-uploading old footage, I’m creating a brand-new collection of fast-paced shorts that focus on the funniest moments, biggest fails, epic stunts and unforgettable chaos. These clips are shorter, sharper and edited to keep the action flowing from start to finish. Think of it as a celebration of GTA V, a countdown to GTA VI, and a chance to compare where Gramepa started with where the channel is today. The challenge is to get the whole game covered by GTAVI launch.

Thanks for joining me on the road back to Los Santos. If you enjoy the clip, a like, comment or share really helps the series reach more people. Follow Gramepa for at least one new GTA V short every day (probably two if I’m going to achieve this) as we count down to the biggest gaming launch in years. I hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as I do!
