When The Bards Tale was released I was 16 years old. It was 1985! That was 40 years ago! We had to draw our own maps out as we played. It would have been incredible to have them appear on the screen like they do in these new and improved versions! Those weather effects too! That would have blown our minds!
The days I put into Bards Tale… Now it gets an hour! I’ve not got the patience anymore to jump through the hoops… heal, drink, level up, with very samey graphics! It was great to revisit it for an hour though until total party wipe out!
For the record I never played Dungeons and Dragons type board games but have always enjoyed my video game RPG’s.
